Sleep is the best of physicians Sleep is that golden chaine that ties health and our bodies together (Thomas Dekker 1572 -1632)
Sleep and watchfulness, both of whom, when immoderate, constitute disease (Hippocrates c 460BC- c 377 BC)
Sleep is the only medicine that gives ease (Sophocles c 496BC - c 406 BC)
The Ancient Greeks, one of the first to study sleep, valued sleep so significantly that they believed that it was a gift to be granted, or refused, by the god Morepheus.
Many of us know what it is like to go without sleep and how it can affect our mood and stress level.
When life gets busy, sleep is often the first activity that we sacrifice. Considered a luxury by many busy people, sleep is actually as vital to sustaining a balanced life as are breathing, eating, and drinking.
Sleep is the indispensable condition to the recuperation of energy. We go to bed fatigued and get up refreshed. Sleep repairs the wear and tear of the body and mind incurred during waking hours. Nothing is so restorative to the nerves as sound and uninterrupted sleep. Sleep is thus a vital element to our way of life.
In response to our customers requests we have, in conjunction with our pharmacist, formulated a brilliant new product called 'NALALA™', meaning "sleep", to help you find a better way to restful sleeping. 'NALALA™' is a combination of natural herbs which have all been shown to promote healthy sleep, has been tested by some of our Little Herbal customers and found to be very beneficial.
NALALA™ capsules contain the following ingredients:Valerian (Valeriana officinalis) has long been used as an agent to soothe the nervous system in response to stress. Valerian is a safe and effective sleeping aid, more powerful than L-tryptophan. It is a wonderful, natural sleep assisting herb and is considered the 'valium' of the herbal world.
Ashwagandha, also known as "Winter Cherry", acts to calm the mind and promote sound, restful sleep at night.
Hops (Humulus) is a central nervous system relaxant used extensively to treat insomnia . As a sleep aid, hops can be used in a sachet inside of a pillow. The aromatic properties of the herb can help one to fall asleep. Hops can be taken to help relax the muscles and soothe anxiety.
Passion flower (Passiflora Incarnata) is rich in flavonoids, which are responsible for its relaxing and anti-anxiety effects. It calms the nerves and relaxes the body. It is very useful when we are anxious/stressed and, as a result, we suffer from insomnia.
Skullcap (Scutellaria Lateriflora) is often used in synergy with Valerian to create an effective remedy for insomnia. It is primarily an anti-spasmodic and relieves muscle pain due to stress.
Hawthorn is considered a mildly calming herb for the nervous system.
Wild Olive Greek physicians used the Wild Olive to cure many ailments including insomnia.
